A gorgeous antique cream silk panel embroidered by hand in silver metallic bullion threads embellished with sequins circa 1870.SOLD
The embroidery is slightly raised, beautifully executed one one panel in two facing sections. Made to decorate the front and back of a dress but never used, the silk is lined in cream gauze. Slight expected tarnish and a couple of vague smudges otherwise in well preserved excellent condition.
The whole silk part panel of the panel measures 35" long x 20 1/2" wide, an extra 2 1/2" cotton muslin either side.
The largest embroidered piece is 18" widest x 6 1/2" deepest, the smaller is 17 1/2 widest x 4 3/4" deepest.
