This hooped bustle underskirt has a substantial bright red cotton covering the lower hoops and sturdy light cream cotton mesh fabric inner lining. Thirteen steel half hoops, original cotton/linen vertical tapes with zig-zag and stripe detail. A substantial cotton waistband with cotton ties, marked clearly on the back trade mark Thomson's crinolette no 22. Makes a great bustle shape and collapses well for transport & storage - circa 1865.
Nothing serious to note, one tape has come adrift, an easy fix, and there are a few tiny holes (7) in the red cotton, otherwise in excellent clean wearable/collectable condition.
Measures :waist 25" + 18" x 2 tape ties, 30 1/2" long at sides, 35 1/2" long from centre back, 20" circumference of top half hoop & 50" bottom hoop.
