A most beautiful Canton jacket embroidered in many harmonious colours, shades of orange, red. yellow green, blue & cream. The floral embroidery is in unfaded coloured silks on substantial medium weight black silk. Lovely allover embroidery, showing birds of paradise and other birds and exotic flora, really good shading. The jacket has simple styling with a small collar, three centre front loops & little red buttons to close, vintage buttons but probably added later. The jacket is well made, inset long sleeves, slightly bell shape, a red woven silk floral lining. Meant to fit loosely, looks fabulous on.
Condition : A couple of light stains and some wear showing in places to the lining ONLY - specifically underarms/sleeve openings, a little opening at the back of the collar, and at lower right front see last pic. The lining silk will need to be re-inforced. Not a difficult job, impossible to see in wear but needs to be done to protect the top silk. Nothing to detract at all from the beauty of this gorgeous period jacket. Generally I would rate the condition as excellent & wearable.
