A colourful scallop edge pelmet for remake or cutting for cushions. Mainly embroidered in wools with some silk in a stylised floral design - good colours : greens, pinks, ochre, yellow and dark red. All worked by hand in good colours on a substantial corded cotton ground, looks like this may be a quantity of silk mixed with the cotton circa 1900.
This lovely old pelmet needs a new lining, the hessian interlining is still attached and the rope trim needs to be re-attached. There is a little wear to the embroidery, not that obvious but worth a mention, the vibrant green ground has a little even fade - a bit shabby chic, perfect for a Victorian house.
