Thomson's 'indestructible' no 2 , a Victorian bustle pad showing a small floral design in ochre and sepia. Very well made, thickly wadded bustle, this is a wonderful shape, it looks like a section of bee hive. I think the filling is cotton wadding with steel bands under. A delicate narrow lace trim is on the bottom.
Of the four ties, three are original. There are four small age stains on the reverse & one side, none would be visible in wear and one very small hole on the front. This lives up to it's name, has been in store for decades and is a bit grubby but generally the bustle is in excellent substantial conditon.
Measures : 14 ins at centre long fully stretched, 15 ins widest at base, 10 ins narrowest at the top.
